River City Radio Hour captures the joys of spring

river-city-radio-hourThe April performance of the River City Radio Hour seeks to spread the joy of the spring season with a selection of its favorite musicians and a new voice thrown in.

Heading the list of vocalist is Wanda Eaves-Taylor, formerly of Wanda and the White Boys.  A favorite of Radio Hour audiences as well as audiences throughout Central Virginia and the Shenandoah Valley, Wanda brings her celebrated style to the  April stage.   Joining her for a turn in front of the Boogie Kings is Dustin Roadcap, one of Shenandoah Valley’s outstanding music theatre actors.

The April Radio Hour will also include Mark Osborne’s debut. A sophomore at Bridgewater College, Mark studies with Richard Adams.  When Richard heard him sing, he said, “This guy can sing!!” and signed him up for the Radio Hour.  A native of Jordantown (Bedford County) Virginia, Mark started playing and singing when he was 13 years old.

The April show will present the fourth and final chapter of Tales from Rose Hall.  Following the short-lived Battle of Waynesboro, a Union officer saves a confederate officer.  He is rewarded with a visit to Rose Hall where he provides another service. Where General Early refused a drink that morning, the young officer is toasted that evening.

Completing the evening’s entertainment will be The Boogie Kings with William Hayes on keyboard and J. T. Fauber on percussion with Richard Adams on every other instrument.  Marsha Howard will bring laughter and a bit of irony with her latest set of jokes.  The popular sing-a-long will end the show.

Admission to the April 17th River City Radio Hour is Pay-What-You-Will at the door with open seating.  There are no advanced reservations.
