Redskins sign Jerry Rice Jr. to free agent deal

redskins-helmetThe Washington Redskins announced today that they have signed college free agent wide receiver Jerry Rice Jr. Terms of the deal were not disclosed. In addition, the team announced that they have waived cornerback Blake Sailors.

Rice Jr. (5-10, 185) had tryouts with the Baltimore Ravens and the San Francisco 49ers this offseason.

Rice Jr., 22, played collegiately at UCLA from 2009-12 before transferring to UNLV where he appeared in nine games for the Rebels in 2013.

Rice, Jr., son of Pro Football Hall of Fame wide receiver Jerry Rice, attended Menlo H.S. in Atherton, Calif. where he earned two varsity letters playing wide receiver, defensive back and kick returner. He was born on July 27, 1991.
