U.S. Senate candidate Mark Warner was in Staunton today applying for a job.
“As some of you know, I’m unemployed right now,” said Warner, a former Virginia governor in the running for the seat being left open by the pending retirement of Republican Sen. John Warner.
A crowd of nearly 200 people greeted Warner on his hour-long tour of Downtown Staunton, which included stops at the Staunton Performing Arts Center, the American Shakespeare Center and the Woodrow Wilson Presidential Library, where Warner, the Democratic nominee, took part in an egg-carrying contest with a group of elementary-school students and toured the grounds of the nation’s 28th president.
