600px-I-64The Virginia Department of Transportation is scheduled to close part of Interstate 64 in Augusta County on April 6 and 7 from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. each night. The closures are for bridge work between mile markers 89 and 93 in the Fishersville area.

On the night of Monday, April 6, westbound traffic will be diverted off I-64 at exit 91 to ramps around the bridge work zone from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.

On the night of Tuesday, April 7, eastbound traffic will be diverted off I-64 at exit 91 to ramps around the bridge work zone from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.

Motorists should also be alert for potential delays on Route 285 (Tinkling Spring Road) due to rerouted I-64 traffic. All work is weather permitting.

These closures will allow crews to bring new bridge beams over I-64 as part of the reconstruction of Route 285 (Tinkling Spring Road) at exit 91 in Fishersville. The two-year project will improve safety and traffic flow along Route 285 in Augusta County.

The Commonwealth Transportation Board awarded Shirley Contracting a $21 million design-build contract in September 2012. Final completion of the project is scheduled for August 2015.
