Mike Wright shined again, and the Orioles racked up 13 hits off White Sox pitching to rack up a 6-3 win in the nightcap of a doubleheader Thursday at Camden Yards.
Wright (2-0) gave up three runs on six hits in five innings to pick up his second win in three MLB starts. He struggled early, giving up a first-inning solo homer to Adam Eaton and a third-inning two-run blast to Adam LaRoche, but settled down thereafter.
Baltimore took the lead for good in the bottom of the third. Down 3-2 after the LaRoche homer, the O’s tied the game on an RBI single by Steve Clevenger and went ahead on an RBI single by J.J. Hardy.
A sixth-inning RBI single by Travis Snider and a seventh-inning RBI single by David Lough provided insurance.
Four Baltimore relievers shut out the Sox from there, with Zach Britton recording his 13th save.
