Obama, Romney hold serve in Augusta

Mitt Romney rolled to a convincing but expected victory in voting for president in Augusta County.

The Republican polled 22,047 votes, 70.3 percent, to Democrat Barack Obama’s 8,759 votes, 27.9 percent.

John McCain defeated Obama in 2008 with 23,120 votes, 69.3 percent, to Obama’s 9,825 votes, 29.5 percent.

The margin for Romney in 2012 was 13,288 votes. The margin for McCain in 2008 was 13,295 votes.
