Bridgewater College and Salisbury battled to a double-overtime scoreless tie Saturday at the Seahawks Classic hosted by St. Mary’s College.
The result leaves the Eagles with a 1-0-2 record overall while Salisbury is now 1-0-1 on the season.
Salisbury held a 13-6 edge in overall shots, including a 4-1 edge in shots on goal. The Seagulls also finished with an 8-1 advantage in corner kicks. Each team managed just one shot on goal in the second half and neither team was able to put a shot on goal in either of the overtime periods.
Noah Malpass had the Eagles lone shot on goal while keeper Mark Davis finished the contest with four saves to record his second shutout of the season.
Bridgewater returns to action Sunday afternoon when it plays the host St. Mary’s team at 2:00 p.m. St. Mary’s defeated Gustavus Adolphus 1-0 Saturday afternoon.
