jmu logoJames Madison University Director of Athletics Jeff Bourne announced Monday that JMU men’s soccer coach Tom Martin will not return after the 2014 season, which is the final year of his contract.

Associate head coach Tom Foley will assume the head coaching role following the conclusion of the current season.

The active winningest coach in Division I and fifth in all-time wins among Division I coaches, Martin has led the Dukes to a 352-158-55 record in his 28-plus seasons, including nine NCAA Tournament berths, seven Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) regular-season titles and four CAA Tournament championships.

A five-time CAA and four-time Virginia Division I Coach of the Year, Martin led the Dukes to the NCAA Tournament Quarterfinals twice (1994 and 1995), as the team’s 1995 performance earned him Soccer News South Atlantic Region Coach of the Year honors. His teams won three straight Colonial Athletic Association tournaments and set a CAA record with a 32-game unbeaten streak that spanned four seasons (1992-95).
