Longwood basketball tickets on sale

Season tickets for the Longwood men’s and women’s basketball programs’ 2014-15 seasons are now on sale to the general public at LongwoodLancers.com.

Tickets and pricing options are available at www.LongwoodLancers.com/tickets or by calling the Longwood ticket office at (434) 395-2378. This year, Longwood also offers a Young Alumni season ticket package, which offers general admission tickets to both men’s and women’s contests for $75 to Longwood graduates 2009-present.

Longwood basketball is set for yet another exciting year in 2014-15. The men’s schedule features a strong Big South lineup including defending conference champion Coastal Carolina, who comes to Farmville on Feb. 23. The Lancers play host to in-state rival Radford on Jan. 3 and welcome 460-rival Liberty two weeks later on Jan. 17. In addition, Winthrop, Campbell, Charleston Southern, Gardner-Webb and Presbyterian all visit Willett Hall during conference play.

In non-conference action, the Lancers will host the Crosstown Showdown, a highly anticipated matchup with Hamdpen-Sydney to open the year on Saturday, Nov. 8. The Showdown marks the first time the two programs have met on the hardwood since 2005. Joining Hampden-Sydney on the non-conference schedule are Dartmouth and UT-Martin who venture to Willett Hall on Dec. 3 and Dec. 6, respectively.

The Longwood women’s basketball squad also boasts a great home schedule with familiar Big South foes along with non-conference matchups with UNC Greensboro and George Mason. Longwood hosts George Mason in a return game after the Lancers fell 66-65 last year in Fairfax. Meanwhile, the matchup versus UNC Greensboro will be the first meeting between the Lancers and Spartans since 2007.
