standing rock siouxProtect Our Water is joining with other grassroots groups, Free Nelson and Knitting Nannas of Virginia, to participate in the Standing Rock Sioux Tribe’s national day of action on Tuesday.

At 12:30 pm on the grounds of the Nelson County Courthouse community members will come together in peace and in song to show their support for the native Americans who have gathered in the Sacred Stone Camp in North Dakota to protect their water, ancestral lands, and historic and sacred sites.

Nelson County has been termed the “epicenter” of the fight against the proposed Atlantic Coast Pipeline.  We clearly understand and empathize with those being forced to accept fossil fuel infrastructure against their will and to their detriment.
