The latest on Sting: Movement toward Sting-Undertaker at WrestleMania?

stingFirst, regarding any contract talks between Sting and WWE, there is still no news. For whatever reason, after years of pursuing the last major star holdout, Vince McMahon and the WWE front office are taking their time now that Sting is a free agent and actually appears to want to sign on the bottom line.

Next, regarding whatever WrestleMania 30 status Sting could have if he signs in time to be added to the card. It’s still possible, though not what you’d call likely, that we’ll see the Sting-Undertaker dream match that many fans have been clamoring for.

According to the Wrestling Observer newsletter, Sting is not only interested in being booked in the match, but is also willing to train with Undertaker at ‘Taker’s gym in the Dallas area to work out the match ahead of time, as several previous Undertaker WrestleMania opponents have done.

It is assumed that Brock Lesnar, who has been assumed to be Undertaker’s WM30 opponent, will not be interested in working with Undertaker for weeks to get the timing of their match down in the way that ‘Taker prefers to do, which would obviously impact the quality of the matchup.

Undertaker is scheduled to return to WWE Monday Night Raw next Monday night to begin whatever storyline creative has in store for him for WrestleMania 30.
