Lane, shoulder closures on Interstate 81 northbound in Shenandoah County

interstate 81The right lane of northbound Interstate 81 will be closed tonight (Monday, December 19) near mile marker 289 in Shenandoah County for recovery of a tractor trailer that crashed early this morning. The location is between exit 283 (Woodstock) and exit 291 (Toms Brook).

The right lane closure is scheduled to begin about 7:30 p.m. and is expected to be in place for several hours.

Throughout the day today, motorists can also expect a northbound right shoulder closure near mile marker 289 as crews offload the trailer in advance of the recovery operation.

The VDOT Staunton District serves Frederick, Shenandoah, Clarke, Warren, Page, Rockingham, Augusta, Highland, Rockbridge, Alleghany and Bath counties.
