Lane closures on Interstate 81 in Shenandoah County

interstate 81Bridge maintenance in Shenandoah County will require overnight lane closures on Interstate 81 and daytime lane closures on Route 185 (Stony Creek Road) beginning Tuesday, September 6.

This work will take place on the bridges at I-81 exit 279 (Edinburg), which carry interstate traffic over Route 185 and Stony Creek.

Alternating lane closures will take place as needed on northbound and southbound I-81 during weeknights from8 p.m. to 7 a.m.

Flagger-controlled lane closures will take place as needed on Route 185 during weekdays from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.Motorists should be alert for shoulder closures as well.

This bridge maintenance is scheduled for completion in mid-October. All work is weather permitting.
