staunton virginiaNational Society Children of the American Revolution held its regional meeting in Staunton. Members traveled from as far as California to be a part of this great educational and social opportunity.

Over 100 children from across the nation are in Staunton Friday and Saturday to learn and engage in understanding critical events in our countries history.

The programming for this event was led by National President Connor Jackson and Senior National President Joanne Zumbrun. Jackson presented information about the National Project, which is to create a hands-on educational curriculum based on the siege of Yorktown in an enhanced outdoor interpretive program at the American Revolution Museum at Yorktown during this 235th anniversary year of the Battle of Yorktown.

Jackson is from Derry, New Hampshire, and is a sophomore at Syracuse University majoring in architecture. Connor has been involved with the Children of the American Revolution since he was a year old and descended from over 25 patriots that rendered aid to the cause of the American Revolution.

Staunton is the seventh stop of the nine regional tours this summer for Jackson and members of the National Board of the Children of the American Revolution. Fun skits are put together to get members across the country excited about American History.

Members are children between the ages of 0 to 22 who have an ancestor who did service for the cause of American Independence. The Children of the American Revolution is the oldest youth patriotic group in the country and works to train better American Citizens and leaders in true patriotism and love of country.
