Interstate 81 off-ramp closure at Exit 195 in Rockbridge on Oct. 12

interstate 81The Interstate 81 northbound off-ramp at exit 195 (Route 11/Lexington) in Rockbridge County is scheduled to close for a single night during pavement repairs. The northbound off-ramp will close at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, October 12, and reopen at 7 a.m. on Thursday, October 13.

Northbound I-81 drivers who need to access businesses near the exit 195 interchange can take exit 191 to westbound I-64, then take exit 55 and follow Route 11 north about four miles. The on-ramps from Route 11 to I-81 will remain open.

Variable message boards will advise drivers of the ramp closure. All work is weather permitting.

General Excavation Inc. (GEI) of Warrenton, Va. was awarded a construction contract valued at nearly $25 million. The exit 310 project is scheduled for completion in May 2018.
