Grand Gala Finale at WTA’s Gateway

Contributors

gatewayWTA’s Gateway will celebrate the end of its three years with an extravagant evening of performances by some of the Gateway patrons’ favorites.  The benefit will feature blues, classical, and pop music, magic, and comedy.  All performers are donating their talents for this exceptional night.  The performance is for Saturday, June 22, at 8 pm at 329 Main Street in downtown Waynesboro.

The musicians who will be performing are The Dreaded Blues Lady, Lorie Strother, and Dr. Stephen Levine, a classical pianist from the Heifetz Institute, and top local talents Katherine McLain and Gwynne Wood.  Magician Peter Monticup will add his own jazz piano to the mystifying magic of his legerdemain.

The evening’s comedy is headlined by Brett Leake, the nationally featured comic who was most recently at the opening act at Wolf Trap.  He will be joined by Waynesboro’s First Lady of Comedy, Marsha Howard and the one of the funniest actors and storytellers in the Valley, if not Virginia, Barbara Lawson.

The income from the benefit performance will provide funds for the costs associated with closing the Gateway.

Tickets for the Grand Finale are $25 and can be purchased by calling 540-943-9999.
