Here we go again? Yet another report has Sting signing with WWE

Contributors

stingFor the zillionth time, we have a report that Sting has signed a deal with WWE, this time from the Wrestling Observer Newsletter.

Sting left tna in January after deciding not to re-sign with the Nashville-based company. From the moment that his last match aired on Spike TV, speculation has been that he would sign with WWE, which he has avoided working for dating back to the demise of WCW in 2001.

Since the beginning of that speculation, it has been assumed that WWE would work Sting in a program with Undertaker. At first it was reported that Sting was being considered as Undertaker’s WrestleMania 30 opponent, and then when ‘Taker was booked against Brock Lesnar, it was assumed that Sting would slide in as the WM31 opponent of Undertaker and The Streak.

Now that The Streak has come to an end with ‘Taker’s stunning loss to Lesnar at WrestleMania 30, there’s no sense of what WWE will want to do with Sting. Wrestling Observer is saying that WWE has plans for Sting that include him being on TV, but there’s no idea beyond that what role he might play.

If indeed he has actually signed. Since we’ve been hearing that he’s signed, sealed and delivered for three months now.
