Brewer threw his third interception of the game on Virginia Tech’s next offensive play, and the Yellow Jackets got into field-goal range with the help of a Thomas-to-Smelter 19-yard pass on third-and-seven that moved the chains.

Brewer finished 28-of-39 passing for 297 yards. Thomas was 7-for-18 passing for Georgia Tech for 125 yards and a touchdown and ran 22 times for 165 yards and a score on the ground.
