Game Notes: #9 UVA basketball hosts George Washington on Friday

No. 9 UVA hosts George Washington of the Atlantic 10 in non-conference action on Friday (Nov. 21). Tipoff at the John Paul Jones Arena is set for 7 p.m.

Single-game tickets for the Virginia-George Washington contest may be purchased online at or through the Virginia Athletics Ticket Office by telephone and in person. The ticket office is located in Bryant Hall at Scott Stadium and open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. Telephone purchases can be made by calling 1-800-542-UVA1 (8821) or locally at 434-924-UVA1 (8821).Tickets may also be purchased on game day at the JPJ box office starting at 5:30 p.m.

Virginia-George Washington Series

Virginia is 25-23 all-time against George Washington in the series that dates back to the 1906-07 season. The Cavaliers meet the Colonials for the first time since March 17, 2004, when Virginia beat George Washington 79-66 in the first round of the NIT in Charlottesville. Virginia holds a 15-10 advantage over George Washington in 25 contests in Charlottesville.
