Douthat State Park is seeking heritage-themed demonstrators and arts and crafts vendors for their 17th annual Apple Day and Arts and Crafts Fair, Oct. 10, at Douthat State Park from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
This event will be a celebration of traditional mountain crafts, food, and entertainment.
Exhibit space will be made available to demonstrators in Appalachian arts and crafts such as blacksmithing, leatherworking, quilting, weaving, pottery, woodworking/carving, etc.
In addition to craft demonstrators, the park is also seeking demonstrators for Appalachian life skills such as lumberjacking, butter churning, soap making, storytelling, beekeeping, and food preservation.
Exhibitors will have the opportunity to demonstrate and sell their wares. Interested demonstrators and exhibitors should contact Katie Graham at (540) 862-8114.
Arts and Crafts vendor spaces are also available. The booth rental fee for a 15’ wide by 10’ deep space is $20, and a double booth rental fee (30’ wide by 10’ deep) is $40. The Arts and Crafts Fair is held outside with tent rentals available from the park for $20. There is a limited supply.
All spaces are filled on a first paid, first served basis. Items sold at the Arts and Crafts Fair are predominantly handmade or embellished by hand by the vendor.
