Detroit blasts Jimenez, Baltimore, in 6-1 Sunday win

lgo_mlb_baltimore_oriolesUbaldo Jimenez was rocked for the third time in four starts in a 6-1 Baltimore loss to Detroit on Sunday in Camden Yards.

Jimenez (8-7, 4.04 ERA) was tagged for six runs on six hits in four and two-thirds innings. In his last four starts dating back to July 17, Jimenez is 1-3 with a 10.61 ERA, with his ERA going up from 2.81 to 4.04 over that span.

J.D. Martinez got the Tigers (51-54) on the board in the top of the first with a three-run homer, his 29th home run of the season. A three-run rally in the fifth, including an RBI single by Anthony Gose, a run-scoring triple by Jose Iglesias and a RBI single by Ian Kinsler, chased Jimenez.

Chris Davis homered for Baltimore in the fourth. The long ball was the 26th of the year for Davis.

Daniel Norris (2-1, 3.23 ERA) gave up a run on four hits in seven and a third innings of work, striking out five and walking one.
