Culpeper District Traffic Alerts: June 4-8

road work transportationThe following highway work is scheduled, weather permitting, in the Culpeper District during the upcoming week. Traffic movements may be restricted and speed limits reduced in work zones. (NEW) or (UPDATE) indicate revisions since last week’s report.

Albemarle County

(NEW) Interstate 64 – Westbound paving operations between mile markers 123 and 127. Expect lane closures nightly Monday through Friday from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m.

(NEW) Interstate 64 – Bridge work in both direction between mile markers 119 and 120. Expect lane closures Monday through Friday from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. Obey traffic controls.

(UPDATE) Interstate 64 – Tree trimming operations on the entrance and exit ramps to Route 637 (Dick Woods Road) at mile marker 114. Be alert for workers near the travel lanes Sunday through Friday from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m.

(UPDATE) Interstate 64 – Westbound fence repairs on the exit 121 ramp. Be alert for workers near the travel lane Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.

(NEW) Interstate 64 – Installation of signs eastbound between mile markers 123 and 124. Be alert for workers near the travel lanes Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

(UPDATE) Interstate 64 – Installation of signs westbound between mile markers 126 and 124. Be alert for workers near the travel lanes Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

(UPDATE) Route 631 (5th Street) – Installation of sign near Interstate 64. Be alert for workers near the travel lanes Thursday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Route 654 (Barracks Road) – Construction of sidewalk between Route 601 (Old Garth Road) and Route 656 (Georgetown Road). Expect daily, intermittent lane closures. Anticipated completion June 2018.

Route 743 (Hydraulic Road) – Construction of sidewalk from Route 1315 (Commonwealth Drive) to Route 656 (Georgetown Road). Expect daily, intermittent lane closures. Anticipated completion June 2018.

(NEW) Various Routes – Road repairs after torrential rain last week. VDOT operators and contract crews will continue making repairs to several roads. VDOT is working as quickly as possible to get all roads and bridges passable. Check 511Virginia.org for the latest road closures.

Fauquier County

(NEW) Interstate 66 – Eastbound bridge deck repairs over Route 55 (John Marshall Highway). Expect lane closures Monday through Friday from 6 p.m. to 4 a.m. Obey traffic controls.

(NEW) Interstate 66 – Westbound bridge deck repairs over Route 55 (John Marshall Highway). Expect lane closures Thursday from 6 p.m. to 4 a.m. Obey traffic controls.

(UPDATE) Interstate 66 – Rehabilitating bridge over Route 725 (Tuckers Lane). Expect brief, mobile lane closures Monday through Friday.

(UPDATE) Route 15/17/29 (James Madison Highway) – Survey and other preliminary design work for the Warrenton Southern Interchange project at Route 880 (Lord Fairfax Drive). Expect intermittent lane closures between 7 p.m. and 5 a.m. Monday through Friday.

(NEW) Route 17 (James Madison Highway) – Southbound brush removal operations between Route 699 (Merry Oaks Road) and Warrenton. Expect lane closures Tuesday and Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

(NEW) Route 29 (Lee Highway) – Brush removal operations between Route 600 (Broad Run Church Road) and Route 215 (Vint Hill Road). Expect northbound lane closures Tuesday and Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

(UPDATE) Route 688 (Leeds Manor Road) – Rehabilitating Interstate 66 bridge over Route 688. Expect intermittent flagging operations while crews work underneath the bridge Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.

(UPDATE) Route 724 (Pleasant Vale Road) – Rehabilitating Interstate 66 bridge over Route 724. Expect intermittent flagging operations while crews work underneath the bridge Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

(UPDATE) Route 731 (Cobbler Mountain Road) – Rehabilitating Interstate 66 bridge over Route 731. Expect intermittent flagging operations while crews work underneath the bridge Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Greene County

(NEW) Various Routes – Road repairs after torrential rain last week. VDOT operators and contract crews will continue making repairs to several roads. VDOT is working as quickly as possible to get all roads and bridges passable. Check 511Virginia.org for the latest road closures.

Louisa County

(UPDATE) Interstate 64 – Installation of signs eastbound near mile marker 136 and westbound near mile marker 137. Be alert for workers near the travel lanes Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

(NEW) Interstate 64 –Eastbound bridge work between mile marker 139 and 140. Be alert for workers near the travel lanes Monday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

(NEW) Route 208 (Courthouse Road) – Bridge repairs over Harris Creek near Route 800 (Holly Springs Drive). Expect lane closures Wednesday and Thursday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

(NEW) Route 522 (Cross County Road) – Pavement marking and line painting between Route 663 (Owens Creek Road) and Route 33 (Jefferson Highway). Expect lane closures Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.

(NEW) Route 688 (Holland Creek Road) – Bridge repairs over Interstate 64. Expect lane closures Tuesday through Thursday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Madison County

(NEW) Route 631 (Beautiful Run Road) – Bridge repairs over Beautiful Run near Route 231 (South Blue Ridge Turnpike). Expect lane closures Monday and Tuesday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Rappahannock County

(NEW) Route 522 (Sperryville Pike) – Bridge repairs over Blackwater Creek near Route 604 (Round Hill Road). Expect lane closures controlled by flagging Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
