Culpeper District Traffic Alerts: June 25-29

road work transportationThe following highway work is scheduled, weather permitting, in the Culpeper District during the upcoming week. Traffic movements may be restricted and speed limits reduced in work zones. (NEW) or (UPDATE) indicate revisions since last week’s report.

Albemarle County

(UPDATE) Interstate 64 – Installation of signs eastbound near mile marker 117 and westbound near mile markers 126 and 119. Be alert for workers near the travel lanes Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

(NEW) Interstate 64 – Inspection of bridge over I-64 at Frontage Route 187 (Royal Orchard Drive). Expect lane closures on I-64 in both directions Wednesday and Thursday from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m.

(NEW) Interstate 64 – Tree trimming operations on the entrance and exit ramps to Route 616 (Black Cat Road) at mile marker 129. Be alert for workers near the travel lanes Sunday through Thursday 8 p.m. to 6 a.m.

(NEW) Route 20 (Monticello Avenue) – Bridge repairs over Moores Creek near Interstate 64. Expect nightly lane closures from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. Monday through Friday.

(NEW) Route 20 (Stony Point Road) – Mobile tree trimming operations in both direction from Route 621 (Wolf Trap Road) to Route 769 (Rocky Hollow Road). Expect lane closures Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

(NEW) Route 29 (Seminole Trail) – Tree trimming operations between Route 854 (Carrsbrook Drive) and Route 1670 (Ashwood Boulevard). Northbound right lane closed Wednesday and Thursday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Route 250 (Ivy Road) – Utility work under VDOT permit near Route 601 (Old Garth Road). Westbound traffic will use the left turn lane. Obey traffic controls Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Route 654 (Barracks Road) – Construction of sidewalk between Route 601 (Old Garth Road) and Route 656 (Georgetown Road). Expect daily, intermittent lane closures.

(NEW) Route 690 (Greenwood Station Road) – Bridge repairs over Interstate 64. Expect lane closures Tuesday through Thursday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Route 743 (Hydraulic Road) – Construction of sidewalk from Route 1315 (Commonwealth Drive) to Route 656 (Georgetown Road). Expect daily, intermittent lane closures.

Route 810 (Blackwells Hollow Road) – Rehabilitating bridge over Halls Creek. Road closed to through traffic June 11-Sept. 7. Use alternate routes.

(NEW) Various Routes – Road repairs after torrential rain. VDOT operators and contract crews will continue making repairs to several roads. VDOT is working as quickly as possible to get all roads and bridges passable. Check 511Virginia.org for the latest road closures.

Culpeper County

(UPDATE) Business Route 29 (Brandy Road) – Utility work under VDOT permit on ramp to Route 29 (James Madison Highway). Expect lane closures on the ramp Monday through Friday from 6 a.m. to 3 p.m.

(NEW) Route 229 (Rixeyville Road) – Bridge work over Muddy Run. Expect lane closures Wednesday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

(UPDATE) Route 663 (Alanthus Road) – Utility work under VDOT permit at intersection of Route 762 (Brandy Road). Be alert for workers near the travel lanes Monday through Friday from 6 a.m. to 3 p.m.

(UPDATE) Route 676 (Berry Hill Road) – Utility work under VDOT permit between Route 15/29 (James Madison Highway) and Route 685 (Fleetwood Heights Road). Be alert for workers near the travel lanes Monday through Friday from 6 a.m. to 3 p.m.

(UPDATE) Route 685 (Auburn Road) – Utility work under VDOT permit at Route 663 (Alanthus Road). Be alert for workers near the travel lanes Monday through Friday from 6 a.m. to 3 p.m.

(UPDATE) Frontage Route 715 (Hubbards Road) – Utility work under VDOT permit. Expect lane closures controlled by flagging Monday through Friday from 6 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Fauquier County

Interstate 66 – Rehabilitating bridge over Route 725 (Tuckers Lane).

Expect eastbound lane closures during the following times:

· Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

· Friday from 9 a.m. to noon

· 7 p.m. Friday to 11 a.m. Saturday

· 9 p.m. Saturday to 4 a.m. Sunday

Expect westbound lane closures during the following times:

· 8 p.m. Monday to 1 p.m. Tuesday

· 8 p.m. Tuesday to 1 p.m. Wednesday

· 8 p.m. Wednesday to 1 p.m. Thursday

· 8 p.m. Thursday to 9 a.m. Friday

· 9 p.m. Friday to 8 a.m. Saturday

· 8 p.m. Saturday to 10 a.m. Sunday

· 9 p.m. Sunday to 4 a.m. Monday

(NEW) Interstate 66 – Mowing in both directions between mile markers 27 and 36. Be alert for workers near the travel lanes Monday through Saturday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Route 688 (Leeds Manor Road) – Rehabilitating Interstate 66 bridge over Route 688. Expect intermittent lane closures controlled by flagging while crews work underneath the bridge Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.

(NEW) Route 691 (Wilson Road) – Pipe replacement between Route 628 (Cannonball Gate Road) and Route 678 (Piney Mountain Road). Road closed to through traffic daily from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Thursday. Use alternate routes.

Route 715 (Old Carters Mill Road) – Rehabilitating bridge over Cromwells Run. Road closed to through traffic June 11-July 13. Use alternate routes.

Route 724 (Pleasant Vale Road) – Rehabilitating Interstate 66 bridge over Route 724. Expect intermittent lane closures controlled by flagging while crews work underneath the bridge Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Route 731 (Cobbler Mountain Road) – Rehabilitating Interstate 66 bridge over Route 731. intermittent lane closures controlled by flagging while crews work underneath the
