policecar3Virginia State Police Sr. Trooper D.C. Brydge is investigating a fatal crash in Augusta County. The crash occurred May 28, at 11:28 a.m., at the intersection of Routes 250 and 285.

A 2000 Chrysler Voyager was eastbound on Route 250, when a 1999 Nissan Sentra pulled out from the parking lot of a private business near Route 285. The Nissan pulled across the eastbound lanes of Rte. 250 to make a left turn and was struck in the side by the eastbound Voyager. The Voyage was unable to avoid the Nissan.

The driver of the Voyager, Erica L. Wiles, 34, of Waynesboro, Va., was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment of minor injuries. She was wearing a seat belt.

The driver of the Nissan, Sue E. Morris, 60, of Crimora, Va., was transported to Augusta Health Center, where she died later Thursday. Morris was not wearing a seat belt.

The crash remains under investigation.
