The Department for Aging and Rehabilitative Services (DARS) received word from the Administration for Community Living (ACL) that CDSME funds would be cut by 30 percent in Grant Year 2 due to sequestration.
DARS has worked to revise the state budget by reviewing savings from Grant Year 1 and looking for opportunities for savings in year 2. This will result in a cut for VPAS CDSME of about 20-26 percent. In spite of cuts, VPAS plans to continue to offer CDSME in all VPAS Regions and will be looking for opportunities to apply for grants, reduce spending, and will be asking workshop participants to consider making a donation to CDSME.
