The Mount Jackson Democrat is challenging likely Republican nominee Bob Goodlatte, a 20-year incumbent, in the Sixth District congressional race. Chris Graham: Is McDonnell’s point moot?

Republican voters continue to toy with the idea of nominating a social conservative to run for president this fall.

The GOP establishment, meanwhile, is trying to position itself to be able to take advantage of the only thing that may be working in their favor.

March for Meals Scheduled for March 17

The Mu chapter of Sigma Alpha Epsilon Pi at James Madison University is hosting its very first “March for Meals” on Saturday, March 17.

The March for Meals is a benefit 5k or 1-mile “march” to help our local philanthropy, Valley Program for Aging Services. VPAS is a local organization that provides Meals on Wheels among other services designed to help older adults stay in their homes and communities for as long as possible. SMAC brings 65 kids to Virginia Y Champs

The Shenandoah Marlins Aquatic Club, which practices at the Waynesboro Y, competed in the Virginia Y Championships held in Lynchburg on Feb. 12.

The Virginia Y Champs is open to all YMCA teams in Virginia.  Y teams make up approximately 30 percent of the swimmers in the state.  There are numerous teams that operate out of a public pool and several that own and operate their own pool that do not practice at a Y.   Continue reading “SMAC brings 65 kids to Virginia Y Champs” »

February is American Heart Month and as a leading nonprofit dedicated to strengthening community through healthy living, the Waynesboro Family YMCA urges everyone in Waynesboro and East Augusta area to take steps to prevent chronic diseases, such as heart disease, so they can lead longer, healthier lives.

RMH will host the RMH/Bowman/Progressive Agriculture Home and Farm Safety Day on March 10 from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. at the Rockingham County Fair Grounds.
