Route 677 (Broomley Road) in western Albemarle County will close to through traffic Thursday, Oct. 2 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
During the closure Buckingham Branch Railroad will perform emergency repairs to the bridge that spans the railroad tracks. The bridge’s handrail was damaged over the weekend and must be replaced.
Detour signs will be in place for motorists. Local access to properties on both sides of the bridge will be maintained throughout the operation.
