Wade Miley. He was pretty good Saturday night in Baltimore.
Miley struck out 11 in eight and two-thirds innings in a 6-1 Orioles win over Arizona, a victory that pushed the O’s, for the moment, back into the second AL wild-card spot.
Baltimore (84-71) is a half-game ahead of Detroit (83-71), which lost on Saturday. Houston and Seattle (both 81-73) are two and a half back, and the New York Yankees (79-75) are four and a half back.
Trey Manicini (3) homered for the second straight night. Mark Trumbo hit his MLB-leading 45th homer.
But the story was Miley (9-13, 5.40 ERA, 1.41 WHIP), who gave up a run on seven hits.
