A two-run Steve Pearce homer put Baltimore ahead to stay, and the Orioles defeated Houston, 4-3, on Memorial Day in Camden Yards.
Houston had taken a 3-2 lead in the fifth on an RBI single by Chris Carter. Delmon Young singled off Dallas Keuchel (6-1) with one out in the seventh, and Pearce followed with a line-drive shot to right-center, his fifth homer of the season.
The O’s bullpen shut down the Astros in the late innings. Brad Brach (2-0) got the win with two and a third innings of perfect relief, and Brach, Oliver Drake and Zach Britton retired the last 12 Houston hitters in order.
Britton earned his 11th save.
Baltimore starter Wei-Yin Chin gave up three runs on 11 hits in five innings, striking out six and issuing no walks.
Keuchel went the distance for Houston, giving up four runs on six hits, striking out three and walking one.
