augusta-health-headerAugusta Health has made an offer to purchase the Berrang GM Cadillac dealership at 201 Lew Dewitt Boulevard in Waynesboro.  The property is under contract, and closing is expected to occur within 30 days.

Augusta Health has been actively developing more outpatient sites throughout the community in anticipation of both health care reform and community need.   Mary N. Mannix, FACHE, President and CEO of Augusta Health explains that health care reform is about improving access to health care services, promoting quality care, moving care out of the four walls of the hospital into outpatient settings.

“We have been studying opportunities to increase our presence in the Waynesboro community for the last several months.  Our community health research identified Waynesboro as in need of more services,” says Mannix.  She describes national health care reform as driving the development of services with improved access, high quality, convenience, and more affordable.

Mannix states, “We think the Berrang location on Lew Dewitt Boulevard is an ideal location to serve Waynesboro, Stuarts Draft, Afton, and the surrounding area.”  Mannix says that consideration is currently being given to the scope of services to be provided in this setting to make it convenient for patients to access care.

“We are just really enthused and excited about having more of a presence in Waynesboro and taking care of our community.  We will definitely keep the community posted as we develop the services to be provided at this site,” adds Mannix.
