Augusta Health opens Anthem Member Assistance Center

augusta healthWhile contract negotiations continue with Anthem, Augusta Health has opened its Anthem Member Assistance Center for its patients who have Anthem insurance.

Augusta Health is staffing the Center with seasoned employees who have experience in case management, claims processing, social work and billing.  Augusta Health’s Anthem Member Assistance Center is located in the Business Office Building on the Augusta Health Campus.

Its hours are Monday through Friday, 9 am – 6 pm.  The phone number is 540.245.7565 and the email address is [email protected].

Before assuming that care can’t be provided by Augusta Health, patients with Anthem insurance are encouraged to take advantage of this service to discuss their individual healthcare needs and circumstances.

Services provided by the Anthem Member Assistance Center include:

  • Personal one-on-one appointments (schedule or walk-in), phone service, or e-mail access.
  • Assistance in completing Continuation of Care applications through Anthem for:
    Inpatients admitted prior to the end of the year
    Outpatients under an active course of treatment prior to expiration
    Expecting Mothers in 2nd or 3rd trimester
    Terminally ill patients
  • Assistance in understanding and applying for various financial programs:
    Augusta Health Financial Assistance Program
    Prompt Pay Discount
    Augusta Health Payment Plan
    MedFinancial (We Care) Payment Program
    MDSave Program
  • Coordinate Anthem coverage questions with hospital and AMG office appointments.
  • Guidance on how to handle out-of-network bills sent by Anthem or Augusta Health.
