24th House District Democratic Caucus set for May 23

va-democratsThe Counties of Bath and Rockbridge, the Cities of Lexington and Buena Vista and those precincts of Amherst and Augusta Counties that lie within the 24th District will hold an assembled caucus beginning at noon, Saturday, May 23, at the Howard Johnson Inn, 2836 N. Lee Hwy., Lexington, to nominate a Democratic candidate for the 24th District Virginia House of Delegates.

Any person wishing to seek nomination must pre-file with Gene Zitver, Chair of the 24th District Nominating Committee, (202) 372-7303 (email: [email protected]), no later than 5 p.m. on May 18, 2015.

There is no charge for those wishing to attend and vote at the caucus. Anyone pre-filing must pay a $50 non-refundable filing fee, with Mr. Gene Zitver.
Doors to the caucus will open at 11:00 a.m. for check-in. Any person attending the caucus, before participating in that caucus, shall sign a Caucus Participation Form stating that he or she is a Democrat, does not intend to support any candidate who is opposed to a Democratic nominee in the ensuing election, believes in the principles of the Democratic Party, and is a registered voter in the District. Caucus Participation Forms must be filled out at the caucus prior to participating in the caucus.
