Former BC gridder inks pro deal

Former Bridgewater defensive back Chris Killian has signed a contract to play with the Western Michigan Thunderhawks of the Indoor Football League.

Killian, a 2008 first team All-ODAC selection, will play defensive back for head coach Terry Foster’s Thunderhawks.

“I can’t say enough about the Bridgewater football staff and how they helped me get to this point in my career,” Killian said. “Jack Johnson, Peter Raeford and Stephon Healey all made me into a different player. Coach Clark is the guru behind it all though, he puts it all together and I’m thankful for what they’ve done for me.”

During the 2008 season, Killian earned All-ODAC honors after posting a 59-tackle season. Killian recorded eight-and-a-half tackles for a loss, forced two fumbles and turned in one interception during the 2008 season.

Killian was a captain on the Eagles squad in 2008.

For his career, Killian played in 18 games, recorded 2.5 sacks and 70 total tackles. His 41 unassisted tackles in 2008 are tied for 21st in a single season in school history.

“Chris was a really hard worker when he was here at Bridgewater. He was a captain for us and overall is just a great kid to be around,” said head coach Michael Clark.

Killian graduated from Bridgewater in 2008 with a degree in communications.
