BC gets win in opener
Bridgewater used an 80 yard Tyler Beiler (Ronks, Pa./Conestoga Valley) kickoff return late in the third quarter to open up a 10-point Eagles lead before the squad held off a late charge by the Saint Vincent Bearcats to win the season opener by a 19-14 tally at Chuck Noll Field.
The win for Bridgewater was its six straight season-opening victory.
Following a scoreless, mistake-filled first quarter from the Eagles, senior Darrin McKenzie (Rustburg, Va./Brookville) broke loose on a 53 yard touchdown run to give the Eagles a 7-0 lead with 12:16 to play in the second stanza.
