Payday lenders are only doing what they can to continue to offer credit to low-income consumers after tight regulations have essentially banned their valuable services. All these groups fighting short-term payday loans have probably never taken one out themselves, and have no idea how valuable they are to peopel who have limited credit options in this economy.

Short-term loans are a valuable service for many consumers. Limiting the amount to a maximum of $550 is unreasonable considering 1) how many people will need more than that when they run into a very expensive emergency situation, and 2) the lenders should be able to stay in business just like everyone else, by lending as much money is NEEDED by borrowers at any one time.
