Winter Weather Advisory in effect for overnight

The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for the Greater Augusta area for tonight and early Friday.
Snow is expected to begin between 7-9 p.m. Thursday night and continue through 2-4 a.m. early Friday morning.
Accumulations of 1 to 2 inches are possible from the weather system, according to the National Weather Service.
The Virginia Department of Transportation has begun pretreating roads in the Shenandoah Valley. VDOT will be monitoring and treating roads with chemicals and abrasives as long as conditions exist.
