EMU men get easy road win

The Eastern Mennonite University men’s basketball team dominated throughout in a 97-44 win at Penn State-Brandywine Saturday.

EMU shot 58 percent from the field, hitting 37 of 64 shots. The Royals were also 9-of-18 from three-point range. Of the men’s 37 field goals, 24 were assisted. D.J. Hinson (Newport News, Va./Menchville) had the game-high with six assists to go along with his 10 points.

Todd Phillips (Waynesboro, Va./Waynesboro) led all scorers with 19 points.

George Johnson (Richmond, Va./Miller School) was 5-of-6 from long-range and tallied 17 points. Coming off the bench, freshman Owen Longacre (Telford, Pa./Christopher Dock) finished with 12 points. Cutter Chisnell (Waynesboro, Va./Riverheads) added four assists.

EMU outrebounded the Lions 36-25 and forced 28 turnovers.

The Runnin Royals continued their unbeaten streak with the victory, moving to 8-0 overall. EMU, also 2-0 in conference play, is at Southern Virginia next Saturday, Dec. 12
