    You there yet Chris?

  2. chrisgraham on November 30th, 2009 7:16 pm

    Finally here. UVa. 11-9, 11:59/1st.
We’ve kind of cooled off after the hot start.

  3. chrisgraham on November 30th, 2009 7:21 pm

Mike Scott is a good player, but can be quite the enigma to talk with.

  4. chrisgraham on November 30th, 2009 7:22 pm

Report: Troy Calhoun scheduled for an on-Grounds interview this week.

  5. chrisgraham on November 30th, 2009 7:25 pm

He’s my top candidate to get the job.

  6. chrisgraham on November 30th, 2009 7:29 pm

Wow. Bobby Bowden to retire. I can’t believe they didn’t give him the retirement-tour year. Wonder if he gets to read a poem …

  7. Jay on November 30th, 2009 7:30 pm

How is the crowd Chris? Sounds pretty good on TV

  8. chrisgraham on November 30th, 2009 7:33 pm

I am at home with a light touch of flu. I sent Scott German over. Scott, you with us?

  9. chrisgraham on November 30th, 2009 7:34 pm

Jay, your thoughts on Troy Calhoun. I’m reporting (here, on this blog, news just getting to me in the last hour) that Calhoun is due in for an on-Grounds interview this week.

  10. chrisgraham on November 30th, 2009 7:41 pm

    Half-UVa. 27-21
I agree with Mike Patrick. It seems like we should be ahead by a lot more.

  11. Jay on November 30th, 2009 7:41 pm

I don’t know much about Calhoun. I would still rather have Petersen. I’ll have to read up on Calhoun a little.

  12. chrisgraham on November 30th, 2009 7:45 pm

I wrote a column on this today, going with Calhoun. The reasoning is Calhoun has had to recruit at Air Force, one of the few places in the country that has comparable academic requirements to UVa. He also has East Coast recruiting ties (he was an assistant at Wake Forest under Jim Grobe).

I’d worry about Chris Petersen in one key respect. What I know of Boise State doesn’t have it inching toward Ivy League status anytime soon. Also, according to Scott German, their roster is full of JUCOs. No way we could become a JUCO school overnight, so I’d have to wonder how he’d do getting kids, especially with no East Coast recruiting ties.

Another run of offensive sluggishness. Those date back to the Holland era.

  14. scott on November 30th, 2009 8:06 pm

Virgina has gone cold here, and as a reult PSU up 34-31

  15. scott on November 30th, 2009 8:07 pm

36-31 psu at 14.00 mark. uva 2-12 in second half psu 7-12.

  16. chrisgraham on November 30th, 2009 8:07 pm

13-2 PSU run. Battle has taken over on offense, and we can’t get anything going on the other end.

    How is the crowd, Scott?

  17. scott on November 30th, 2009 8:08 pm

for the first six minutes of this half this performance resembles the type of play from last season

  21. chrisgraham on November 30th, 2009 8:14 pm

    They’re punking us now.

  22. scott on November 30th, 2009 8:14 pm

good monday night crowd, not great. I thought it would be more due to the firing of Groh.

  23. scott on November 30th, 2009 8:17 pm

Speaking of football. The air Force coach, Troy Calhoun is getting some discussion. This could be a solid prospect. Might be worth checking out his bio.

  24. scott on November 30th, 2009 8:18 pm

Does appear the AFP report on Tucker rejoining the team was indeed accurate. Tucker at least has made it from the stands to the team bench.

  25. scott on November 30th, 2009 8:20 pm

killer three by psu. 47-38 psu at the nine minute mark

  30. scott on November 30th, 2009 8:30 pm

Ok it might be time for some spin.
PSU is current NIT Champions!!! 27-11 last season.

  31. chrisgraham on November 30th, 2009 8:31 pm

I don’t like that Battle kid.

  32. scott on November 30th, 2009 8:31 pm

U.Va. outscored 36-16 in second half. 7-24 from the floor.

  33. chrisgraham on November 30th, 2009 8:32 pm

Talor Battle is a special player, and Penn State is going to be in the NCAA Tournament.

Having said that, I mean, we have 16 points this half. And they’re not doing anything to make that be the case.

  34. scott on November 30th, 2009 8:36 pm

battle has 23 points, 19 this half. Uva has 19 total in this half. (ouch)

  35. scott on November 30th, 2009 8:38 pm

    crowd heading out. Patriots-Saints waiting.

  36. scott on November 30th, 2009 8:39 pm

  37. scott on November 30th, 2009 8:40 pm

57-49 psu with 2:17 left. The free throw shooting parade begins…

  38. scott on November 30th, 2009 8:41 pm

More spin coming. PSU is regarded as Big-Ten’s best defensive team!!

  39. scott on November 30th, 2009 8:43 pm

After promising start, the cold hard facts as to why Leitao was fired is quite evident. Poor inside game, weak shooting, and no bench!

  40. scott on November 30th, 2009 8:44 pm

Sene a no show tonight as well!

  41. scott on November 30th, 2009 8:45 pm

Sophmore slump? Landesberg misses two straight free throws, only 13 points. may get some in garbage time though

  42. scott on November 30th, 2009 8:46 pm

60-53 psu with 1:26 left landensberg banks in a three!!!

  43. scott on November 30th, 2009 8:47 pm

  44. scott on November 30th, 2009 8:49 pm

Wow, a foul by uva with 10 on the shot clock

  45. scott on November 30th, 2009 8:50 pm

62-59 another three by Sammy! 44.6 left. Do you believe in miracles???

  49. scott on November 30th, 2009 9:01 pm

Final PSU 69 UVA 66 . What’s the lesson for tonight fans. You have to play the full 40 minutes to win against good teams.

  50. chrisgraham on November 30th, 2009 9:02 pm

Wow. Credit to the UVa. team for not packing it in down 10 with two minutes to go.
