Mark Warner and health-care reform

November 20, 2009 by afp

The debut episode of the Virginia Politics Today with Chris Graham podcast discusses the evolving position of U.S. Sen. Mark Warner, D-Va., on health-care reform.

Warner has kept his feelings on reform close to the vest, but comments he made today to a Virginia small-business group are giving up some indication of where he stands.

I think Warner will vote “yes” and Webb will vote “no”. Webb’s reelection is much sooner than Warner’s, for that reason & the outcome of the Governors’ race that you cited I believe our Senators will split their votes.

Good observation, C.W. Warner is a bit more politically protected. Webb barely won in ‘06 and might be the underdog again in ‘12 even as the incumbent.

Warner is most likely safe he has friends on both sides of the isle, hell I voted for him last year…LOL. Webb on the other hand can be beat if the GOP candidate runs a McDonnell style campaign.

I agree. He will have a pretty tough fight on his hands.
