Group thanks Perriello for vote on health care
Americans United for Change is putting $35,000 behind a media buy thanking Fifth District Congressman Tom Perriello for his vote on health-care reform.
“Virginia families are closer than ever having access to the quality, affordable health care they deserve thanks in no small part to Congressman Tom Perriello Representative Perriello stood up to the big health insurance industry and stood alongside the AARP, the American Medical Association and the clear majority of the American people with his support for the Affordable Health Care for America Act,” said Tom McMahon, the organization’s acting executive director.
The ad buy will run this week on cable and broadcast TV in the Roanoke market.
“The Congressman withstood enormous pressure from big insurance – an industry desperate to kill reform so they can keep raising premiums on Virginia families four times faster than wages and keep rescinding policies when people get sick. With this effort, we hope Virginia’ entire delegation will continue to hear from their constituents and be reassured that a vote for health insurance reform is not just the right thing to do, but the politically sound thing to do,” McMahon said.
