I don’t want any bureaucrat standing in the way of my doctor’s recommendations. Uh, huh. Except that we already have bureaucrats in private insurance companies standing in the way of my doctor’s recommendations.

The idea that the health-care crisis has been manufactured for political gain is pure fantasy. But the above commenter knew that as she typed the words.

John Rogers commentary is offensive- and not grounded in facts. Why would anyone trust the federal government to run health care when Social Security and Medicare are facing insolvency (the unfunded liabilities in these programs are staggering- in the trillions). Let the feds first correct the mess they’ve made of existing entitlement programs before starting new ones. Most people without health care can afford to have insurance and choose not to- or are only temporarily out of insurance or are people who qualify for existing programs but failed to sign up- liberal Democrats want to offer health insurance to illegal aliens (which of course will only increase health care costs as anything that is subsidized will be utilized more heavily). There is no health care crisis- it’s been manufactured by the Obama Administration and liberal Democrats on the Hill in order to push for a government takeover of one of the most productive, advanced segments of our society.

Ordinary working Americans have to live within their means every day- to make sure they don’t spend more money than they earn- since when did it become okay for the Administration and Congress to propose vast new spending programs (including cap and trade), adding trillions of dollars in debt in an already sinking economy with growing unemployment? This is fiscal insanity.

If you like gov’t health care, consider the former Soviet Union- the workers’ paradise-where the government promised it would take care of the proletariat. 50% of the hospitals lacked running water. The Canadians have lived with government health care because when they have to stand in long lines to have a tumor check, or need surgery, they can flee south and use our clinics- where are we going to flee- to Mexico? Anyone who advocates for gov’t-run health care hasn’t troubled to look at the reality in other countries. I don’t want ANY bureaucrat standing in the way of my doctor’s recommendations. The feds have their hands on nearly 60% of health care thru VA, Indian Health Services, Medicare, Medicaid, etc.- and people wonder why costs are going UP? Get the government out and increase competition- and costs will be lowered. It’s called the free market- and it’s why we became a superpower.

1) I’ve met people who have actually said, “I’m happy with my insurance why should I care about the uninsured?” (selfish prick)

2) When a senate sub-committee put a clause in their amendment to dissolve Medicare because it was a “national” program, EVERY republican voted against it. (hypocritical pricks)

3) The insurance cartel is immune from anti-trust laws that the rest of us have to abide by and as a result, nearly 1/3 of the premiums that we pay go to profits. (selfish, greedy pricks)

4) Local republicans mindlessly argue against health care reform while study after study show that it will benefit the consumer, and at the same time they whine about the costs of their premiums and medicine costs. (stupid, non-thinking, moronic pricks).
