Meet the Candidates – tonight!
The Waynesboro Democratic Committee and Augusta Free Press Publishing are sponsoring a Meet the Candidates event at the Downtown Pavilion in Constitution Park tonight – Tuesday – from 6-8 p.m.
The primary to decide Democratic Party nominees for governor, lieutenant governor and the 25th District are a week away – Tuesday, June 9.
25th District Democratic candidates Greg Marrow and Jim Noel are scheduled to be on hand for tonight’s event, which is free and open to the public. Representatives and surrogates for the Creigh Deeds, Terry McAuliffe and Brian Moran campaigns for governor and the Mike Signer and Jody Wagner campaigns for lieutenant governor are also slated to be with us.
This is the best chance for voters in the Waynesboro-Staunton-Augusta area to get a feel for the candidates and their positions on the issues and approaches to policymaking in advance of next week’s primary.
Food is being provided from Shukri’s BBQ courtesy the Waynesboro Democratic Committee. People coming out for the game can enter drawings to win free tickets to Waynesboro Generals games courtesy Augusta Free Press Publishing.
