I work across from the wall and get to see it everyday from Spring lane. I remember when work started and stopped. The only activity I have seen from my view was a wood fence go up, then come down and a chain link fence go up then get moved a few times.

Maybe someone could find a solution before more money is wasted on more fences or labor to move them around a few times.

While the city tries to figure out the wall maybe they can get the fountain working too. For people that work downtown it could be a nice place to take a break or lunch when the weather is nice.

What a wasted space as it sits now.

On the "scar" on the mountain, I did a story on that once back in my NV days. What I was told in reporting on that was that it dated back to Charlie Yancey, so that puts it to the '50s. So ... 50 years. We can turn this wall around quicker than that. (I hope!)

Mettle, or is it moxie. That's what comes to mind, Chris, on your coverage of the (depressing) functioning of The "Boro." But maybe there's hope. After all, the city did eventually fix the giant quarry scar on the east side of town. How many years did that take?

If what you say is correct and the City is "consulting a contractor to look at the Paradisos’ building and make suggestions for potential finishes that could provide an aesthetic solution" then they need to be reminded that contractors are not licensed to this type of work. Architects and Engineers are. Perhaps this is why the wall was built so poorly in the first place.
