A relative is a heavy smoker, and whenever we visit, I have to take a shower and wash clothes and coats and the rest to get the smell out. And I sometimes leave feeling physically ill. I credit the non-smoking ban in California as a major contributing factor for my own smoking recovery...it made it harder to smoke and less socially acceptable, too. On that note... have you heard of the recently-named "third hand smoke"? It's what scientists are now calling all the surfaces that absorb cigarette smoke toxins and release later on... such as furniture, drapery, towels, etc. I love this idea!
