Augusta County has signed a contract to make prescription-drug discount cards available to residents of the county and the cities of Staunton and Waynesboro that will offer an average savings of 20 percent off the retail price of commonly-prescribed drugs.
The cards are available to area residents regardless of age, income or existing health coverage.
You do not need to be a Medicare beneficiaries to be eligible for the program.
The cards are being made available through a program sponsored by the National Association of Counties. There is no cost to county taxpayers for the county and NACo to make the cards available to area residents.
The cards can be picked up at Shenandoah Valley Social Services offices in Verona and Waynesboro and at the Augusta County Government Center.
