Good catch. He didn't double Deeds. He did outraise him by $$330K. And has $240K more on hand.

I'm not taking sides in this battle. I just hope they get it resolved before, say, the first of the year, so that we can go into '09 with a unified front against the GOP and McDonnell/Bolling.

Chris, I'm disappointed in this article. Delegate Moran did not "raise" $1.38 million ... he raised about $1 million and transfered the rest.

Here's how Tim Craig of The Washington Post reported it a week ago:

"The money Moran raised so far this year includes $393,000 that he transferred from his old political account, Friends of Brian Moran, meaning he actually raised about $1 million in new money in 2008, according to his campaign staff."

http://blog.washingtonpost.com/virginiapolitics/2008/07/moran_raises_nearly_14_million.html

Moran did not "nearly double" Sen. Deeds' totals. But apparently he did spend $455k while Deeds only spent $132k.

Your focus should be on how and why Moran raised 20% more than Deeds but spent 300% more. That seems to be a more important story.
