Valley teams to square off with top summer baseball team in nation

The top two teams in the Valley League will square off in a doubleheader against the top-ranked team in summer college baseball next week.
The #5 team in the PGCrosshecker.com national rankings, the Luray Wranglers, and the #11 team in the national rankings, the Waynesboro Generals, will play the Vienna Senators of the Clark Griffith League in games at Luray on Tuesday.
Waynesboro will play Vienna at 4 p.m., with the Luray-Vienna game scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
The Senators are 25-3 and have been at the top of the PGCrosschecker.com national rankings for the past two weeks. The squad has a .301 team batting average and a 1.95 team ERA, both tops in the Clark Griffith.
Luray has won 14 of its last 16 games to improve to 22-8 on the season, giving the Wranglers a four-game lead in the Northern Division heading into tonight’s action. Waynesboro has won 12 of its last 15 to improve to 21-9, which gives the Generals a four-game lead in the Southern Division.
