President George W. Bush spoke at a ceremony for new American citizens at Thomas Jefferson’s Monticello today.
AFP political correspondent Mike Hodge was on hand for the event, which saw several protestors disrupt the proceedings with cries of “Impeach Bush” and “war criminal!” and more. Hear the speech - and the protestors - in their entirety on today’s show.
Show Length: 12:25

[...] The White House has a full transcript of President Bush’s speech, but The New Dominion goes a step further and provides audio of the speech. It appears that the President had to suffer quite a few [...]
Unfortunately like most of the local media, AFP provided a large part of their coverage of this event about the protestors instead of the people who became Citizens on this day. Exactly what those who protest strive for and get when they become more outrageous in their tactics…
Did you listen to the podcast, Steve? Did you look at our photo page? We ran the president’s speech IN ITS ENTIRETY. We had ONE PICTURE of a protestor in our photo gallery. Please, Steve, at least pay attention to what we’ve offered in terms of coverage before bashing it.
Yes I did and in the first 90 seconds of your introduction to the provided speech it was highlighted on the protestors and their actions. In fact little was mentioned about the people who were becoming Americans on this day. In fact there was a description of the “Peaceful” demonstrators along the roadway…
Do we really want to highlight the actions of these people and identify with them?
Steve:
Why does your logo appear with such big menacing teeth? Is there a Conservative comment filter that assigns big ugly fangs to Us?
Would you have it that we pretend that those people weren’t there? Of course you wouldn’t. You wanted us to identify them as being “outrageous,” as you hinted in your comment. Ironic for people speaking truth to power on July 4. We can thank God and history that 56 people signing a piece of paper on another July 4 didn’t let the critics who called them outrageous talk them out of doing what they did.
Note to STD and others … you can add your own avatar to appear in the place of the randomly-generated avatars that appear with your comments on our site.
