Valley League players, pitchers of the week

The Luray Wranglers were representin’ this week in the Valley League Player of the Week honors.
Wranglers pitcher Drew Rucinski (Ohio State) and outfielder Jeff Jefferson (Liberty) were among the four players singled out by the league.
Jefferson posted a batting average of .360 for the week with eight runs scored, nine hits, one double, two home runs, seven RBIs and 16 total bases in 25 at bats. Rucinski pitched seven shutout innings with eight strikeouts.
Also honored were Fauquier pitcher Jon Luke Jacobs (Auburn), who allowed one unearned run in six innings last week, and Woodstock middle infielder Adalberto Santos (New Mexico Junior College), who hit a league-high .520 last week with four doubles, a triple and six RBIs in 25 at-bats.
