A documentary on the history of Montgomery Hall Park in Staunton and its role in race relations in the Jim Crow era will debut on July 12.

“Staunton’s Other Park” will premiere at the Montgomery Hall Park Lawn Party on the 12th at 3 p.m. The screening is free and open to the public.

The 19-minute film, produced by the Woodrow Wilson Presidential Library and narrated by Washington and Lee University professor Ted Delaney, features interviews with people who were regulars at Montgomery Hall Park.

The interviews were conducted by Mary Baldwin College students under the direction of MBC professor Amy Tillerson.
